Our Story

Julie writes:

"Serendipity opened its doors in September 2006. The woman behind the name was Cath Wadsworth; our founder and one of the most influential people in my life. Along with the larger flagship store in Leyburn, we traded side by side until 2021 when the Leyburn store closed. Serendipity Saltaire Ltd continued to trade under the same ownership until October 2024 when the store closed and ownership changed hands, being relaunched by Julie in November of the same year. I love this shop; it has a very special place in my heart and I look forward to turning the key in the door of 85 Bingley Road for years to come, welcoming you into the world of Serendipity... a place where 'happy and desirable discoveries are made by accident'."
